Default List of mods you WON'T ever do again

I was just reading through a few other posts, and I was recalling my experience with some of the topics. I have had quite a few aftermarket components on my car. Some are still there, some are gone.

I am pretty happy with everything I have on the car now, but there are a few things that I was not very happy with at all. Here are some of the things I will never buy for a street car again:

-AJE K-member
-X2C front coil overs
-Kooks Longtubes
-Steeda IRS bushings

The AJE k-member relocated the power steering rack/lines right into the oil filter. Required bending the power steering lines to a point where they were nearly pinched. Also, the bushings at the fastening points for the a-arms had so much play, the a-arms would slide back and forth.

X2C coilovers made the front suspension clang and bang due to lack of rubber/poly isolators between the springs and strut towers.

Kooks longtubes hang too low and don't seal up properly at the collectors. The exhaust system leaked until I removed them.

Steeda IRS bushings offered no reduction in wheel hop.

What products have you had poor experiences with?

Drop-In K&N filter in stock airbox - noticed a small gain but wasn't worth $50, just spend you money on a nice intake setup. My car responded big time going from the K&N to the Steeda.

BBK TB - luckly I was only out $75 (bought used) but it worked great on my car for a few months and then after a road trip something changed and the blades would hang-up and the idle was all wack. I fought it and tried to get it to work but it's a lost cause. Something leads me to believe it was core shift in the casting or something like that. Don't waste your money on it.

Flowmaster mufflers. I know a lot of people like them but they were just not for me and they rusted out in less than a year.

A drop in filter in stock air box. It was fun for a while, but I got rid of it and went with a JLT.

NOS Octane Booster - my car didnt pick up any power!!

Seriously though, I have been fortunate in that I have been very pleased with every part/mod I have done to my car. I guess the extended and exhaustive research I tend to do pays off. Only thing I am "unsure" about is the Denso Iridium IT20 plugs. They have been working great for the last 8000 miles, but are they really worth $100/set? I dunno?

I use to run that stuff in my 95 cobra. Worked really well as an octane booster for increased mileage... not so much for the get-up and go effect...

K&N drop in filters... +1 just spend the extra cash and buy an actual cold air kit!

Same problem here. I tore mine off and replaced them with Pypes Violators. I love them so much, I could swear by them.

Yea, well If you want your 'stang to sound like a truck with rusted out exhaust! JK it sounds OK, just not my taste. I'm also about to ditch my flows and go with some SLP's!
