Default List of mods you WON'T ever do again

yes drop in filters are pointless. Im pretty OCD about buying on the spot so I have to be sure Ill like something before I buy. Other than the drop in filters there has not been a mod I wouldnt do again.

Yeah unless you got a really low hp car that drop in filter won't make much of a difference. But keep in mind that "performance" filter's purpose is to filter. It does a better job than the stock unit and it does save a little gas. It isn't really meant to be a power adder.

And as for spark plugs at $100 a set, what were you thinking? lol
Unless you have a race-car ignition and do a lot of tuning on a dyno I don't think those are worth it. Are they hand built or what?

Drop in filter is worth the $40 or so, just doesn't look as clean as a new CAI. Worst "mod" so far was replacing the damn intake crossover with another plastic crossover after it already blew. Ended up blowing again and going with an aluminum? one instead. Honestly, the glasspacks I had were worth the money straight up. Surprised no one has mention them :].

Edit: AllgonoShow, that is an insane sig. Please tell me you didn't do it yourself.

Haha thanks man. I think I can take pictures sometimes :P Most of my other crap on here got all messed up because I re-arranged my photobucket and it screwed up all the links. Not sure how to fix it either.

But yeah the sig was pretty easy, just a long night time exposure with the shutter open. We did a lot of crazy stuff that night

the reason that the k&n drop in filter is so much is because u dont have to replace it and it is cleanable unlike the stock ones. if u by it for power u will be dissapointed.

You're the first person I've ever heard that doesn't like Kooks products. You might be one of those one-in-a-million cases where something got a little tweaked.

And did you do the full IRS bushing kit? Only replacing a couple of bushings and leaving the rest of the rubber ones in isn't going to do much for you.

Do any of you guys have any dyno charts that show an aftermarket CAI is better than a drop in filter? Several of my other forum friends have switched between both and notice zero difference. I can't see the tubing having much of an impact on airflow

The only octane booster that really does anything is the torco accelerator

I think you'd be a lot more impressed if you went to a quality catback

Lol, I'd say it counts. Narrowbands are kinda worthless. Do you run a wideband now? I'm assuming you're blown...?

Sorry if it seems like I'm ripping on people in this thread. I'm just trying to get the facts.

I'll never buy a CAI again. I'll make my own out of 4" PVC pipe and silicone couplers.

I'll never get tuned by RWTD again, they are horrible.

I bought a boost gauge instead of a vacuum/boost gauge.
