Default 98 v6 droptop

i had a 88 250 with a 7.3 in it that the ignition was messed up. i had it replaced and a year later you could start it with out a key. something defective in it. but you didnt want to get stuck with out a key because when you would least expect it. it would lock the stearing wheel. so i tossed a spare in the glovebox.

Ignition problems always seem to be a pain. I had an 87 mustang about 5 years ago that wouldn't start with a key as well. I had to jump it with a screwdriver as well. Pretty embarrassing when the car died (badly blow head gasket and overheated) had to jump the car in the middle of an intersection.

Anyways it's hard to diagnose problems like that. It obviously seems like it's something with the wiring.

My first Mustang...1966 coupe...you know those old school lawn chairs? like the first thing that comes to mind as old school lawn chair? with the vinyl straps? haha i had one of those (legs broken off) as a drivers seat, old flat head screw driver as a gear shift, and pocket knife, or "shifter" started her up hahahaha
