Question Installing jegs offroad h pipe. Any help?

Hi, i just ordered an h pipe and it looked a little used. Well. One of the pipes that hooks to driver side header had a clamp thing welded
in and no hangers on it, but in picture it showed em.

Anyways, i wanted to install this in my garage on jackstands. Is this a bad idea? Anythung special i will need? What is a reasonable price from a shop? Also, if i install this will my engine suffer at all without a tune? Thanks!

Hey man, so there a clamp to mount up to your header but no hanger? Only on one side? Or both sides are like that. It should have hangers. If they're broken off a shop or you if you've got a welder can throw some new ones on pretty quickly. I would say $50 or w/e their per hour charge for labor is would be fair. It's a quick job. Easily something you can do in your garage though.

Yea just jack the car up and do it, but it would help if you had an impact gun. I had a shop swap my exhaust once, they charged about 100 bucks too

It would probably be very cheap to do it at a shop since it is pretty much a bolt on thing but if you are able to do it at home thats always cheaper. I installed an O/R H-pipe in my garage last year with just a small 2 ton jack and 2 jack stands. The hardest part was getting under the car with very little clearance. You might also need some ratchet extensions to get to the bolts. Im not sure how difficult they are to reach on a 99 mustang though.

Appreciate all the help. I'm having a buddy install it with me and will let everyone know how it goes. May take it to a muffler shop to get out any leaks afterward! thanks fellas!

When i had my 04, getting to the bolts on the manifold was a pain, they are so far up there and at the worst angle. It alot easier on the 05+
