Default Just purchased a new offroad H pipe.. What mufflers?

Right now I'm rollin with Thrush Glasspacks on Stock headers + midpipe with 6!! cats. The glasspacks were so much better than stock sound. Now I just ordered this midpipe and want to know if I should try out the glasspacks with them or drop more money on flowmasters 40 series. Thanks!

Damn 6 cats? I didnt know they came with 6. I thought 4 cats was ridiculous. I would just throw the H pipe on and see how you like it with the glasspacks first.

I also found these videos for the flowmasters. It does sound pretty good.

I appreciate the clips man, I really am liking the 40 series, but don't have cash as I have prom shit to pay for. The Mustangs from Cali had 6 cats to pass emmisions I believe, it's crazy. Good thing I live in Minnesota with no emmisions. Or maybe that's a bad thing, lol.

What exhaust do you have?

Uhhhhggg tell me about it man.

I was running flowmaster 40's on my 02', I liked them but they had a little bit of "highway drone", but that wasn't all that bad. I personally like magnaflows with a bassani o/r h-pipe. I'm running a pypes o/r H-pipe on my 'leen. I love it.

Had the flows on my 04 as well. The drone was notorious, but they sounded good. Or check out borla, they make good mufflers too, if you get money eventually.

Look into MAC exhaust. They make awesome products for our cars.

Flowmasters are pretty played out, go with something a little more original.

Also to save a few bucks you can just get the mufflers welded in instead of going with the full catback

the Borla muffs make more power than any other on the dyno. And they sound great. I have the reg. Magna flows on my stang and they have lil to no drone and sound awesome when u put yur foot into it. id stay away from the flowmasters. they sound good but they drone like crazy and my buddy lost power switchin from his mags to flows.

Do you have any dyno sheets to prove the power gains from borla?

IMO catbacks are less about power and more about sound. MM&FF (I think) did a test on a few bolt ons and a catback gave them like 5 rwhp. Big deal... I don't know about you but I can't feel a few HP difference. Might as well get what sounds good. That being said borla stingers, magnapacks, and LMII's sound good with x-pipes. Chambered mufflers like MACs sound good with H pipes
