I'm Driving Watkins Glen!
My schedule has changed a couple of times and I'm still in WNY after last weeks Nationals at OCC. My brother is a member of the local Shelby Club and they have open track days Monday and Tuesday - I'll be driving Monday at my first ever track day! How fitting to be just after the intro of the new Boss 302. My brother has done this a number of times and gets 140 on the back straight. I have him by at least 100 HP....
I'm thinking this could be rather addicting.....

Indeed, it was a SERIOUS blast! I did the first session as a ride along with my instructor, who is my brother's best friend, in his turbo 300ZX on slicks. That gave me a good look at the line with a running commentary, along with an idea of pulling G's and experiencing braking points. Then I drove 3 sessions. I wasn't really using the car to full potential most of the day as I was more intent on hitting my points (and avoiding traffic). I was getting fairly comfortable and gaining confidence, and for some reason my tune seems to have 'healed' the air-fuel issue, so I let loose through the esses and down the backstretch. It seems the car will cruise nicely at 150...in 4th...and still have enough punch to pull hard. I was finding it very difficult to be consistent when in traffic.
Sorry, but I didn't get any video. The built in dynamics screen in the radio was showing lateral G's at about 1.1, braking at just over 1.0 and acceleration at 0.65. It's a loose scale, so those numbers are approximate. The Baer's were nothing short of awesome all day.
Now, to build something 1000 pounds lighter.........

Damn sounds like a great time. I would be happy to just let loose on an open course just to see what the car is really capable of. Now you need a real track car without the 20" wheels and 4000 lbs.
