I am considering the purchase of a 1999 35th anniversary ford mustang convertible. It is in excellent shape, never involved in an accident and has a good service record. The cost seems very reasonable ($6000). I dont know mustangs very well but I have always wanted one. Any advice? Anything I need to know? Please email me at trzecia@mcmaster.ca Thanks!
If it has had regular maintenance it should last quite a bit longer. I would say 150k miles+ before anything major is needed. I would definitely drive it around and even on the freeway if the owner allows. Make a good offer of around $5000 and see how the owner responds. you may be able to get him down on the price. Good luck!
i drove it in city and on the highway. it was a great drive! i think it drove better on the highway than in the city. i was surprised at how quiet it was with the top up but also surprised that with the top down you could still carry on a good conversation without too much noise.
I am still considering it. There are a couple of different cars I am looking at so I'm waiting to have an independent mechanic look it over before making an offer.
I bought it! The independent mechanic said it was in near perfect condition. It passed our Canadian emissions test with flying colors. It also passed the Canadian safety test with a couple of minor adjustments. Body is in near perfect condition. Runs like a dream. Thanks for the advice! Pic of it attached.
