Did they tell you why it did not pass? Sometimes they will give you suggesstions on what to do. When I had mine smogged. The guy was really helpful and let my car sit there and helped me work on it until it barely passed. I had a problem with the idle.

set the timing to stock which i think is 10 degrees, drive the fuck outa ur car first to get them hot, if you have to sit in line sit with the rpm at like 2500 to keep them hot, dump a bottle of rubbing alcohol in ur tank

or unbolt the exhaust a little, or put some ethanol in, or have a mechanic write you up a slip

I heard something about this....how do you go about doing this....?

Are you exempt from emissions if you have a mechanic write up something?

Retard the timing, run the tank almost dry, get the cats real hot, then pour in a litre of methyl hydrate. Car will smell like vodka, and you'll pass unless you have serious issues...

if its anything like here in NC, then you cant just get a sticker as the guy has to type your vin in when he checks car. Plus they dont even put the probe in the tailpipe either, they just plug into your computer and it tells how its running, but thankfully anything older than 10 years old now doesnt have to pass emissions.

I was gonna say, if it won't pass simply because the motor is too wore out, that's a good excuse to build a new one.
