Default Tire Size for 70 coupe?

I have a 1970 coupe L6 250 bored .040 over im looking for a tire size that would be perfect for it but also make it look cool. I have 15x7 wheels for it. The suspension seems to be old and car seems low. If anyone can help me, find the largest size possible but also make the car drive well, it wiould be greatly appreciated.

Check out this site
Wheels & Tyres for Mustangs

It looks like 225/60/R15 should be a good tire for you. Do you have power steering? You might want to move down to a 215 in the front if you dont. But 225/60 looks to be the biggest you can go.

These are 215/60 in the front and 225/60 in the rear. wheels are 15x7 in the front and 15x8 in the rear

Yes as long as you have 4.25" backspacing which I believe is normal for a 15x7 wheel. If you have something like 3.75" then you would have to roll your fender lips

Mine are 205/50R25 and 225/50R15. They are rather small sidewall wise though. Front wheels are 15x7 and rear are 15x8. That is on 1" drop coils, 1/2 coil cut on each side, and the shelby drop.

MY CAR IS RIDING LOW RIGHT NOW BUT I AM GETTING NEW FRONT COIL SPRINGS AND AIR SHOCKS FOR REAR HOPEFULLY LIFT IT UP A LITTLE SO I CAN PUT 225/60/15'S ON. i LIKE THE LITTLE WIDER TIRES. tHE FRONT END IS ESPECIALLY LOW!

225 should fit pretty easy.

A lowered car will definitely make it more difficult to fit larger tires. Air shocks are great because they allow you to adjust the height.

Let us know how it goes
