Default Turn Signal Switch (67 but others are similar)

I have recently changed my TS switch on my 67, I didn't think to take pics until I was putting it back together. I thought it might help someone to post up some pics.
To remove:
1. Disconnect ground cable at battery so horn won't go off when removing steering wheel.
2. Remove steering wheel pad (twist counterclockwise).
3. Remove horn button (push in and twist counter clockwise). there is a spring in the center.
4. Remove steering wheel. You will need a puller
5. Remove turn signal switch lever and emergency flasher control knob (on 67's, 68 doesn't have knob).
6. Remove steering column upper collar or "cone"(2 screws) and remove the two nuts holding the main body.
7. Disconnect multiple connector near bottom of steering column.
8. Remove wires and terminals from connector so the wires can pull thru column.
This can be done by depressing tab on wire terminal with an awl
or with an empty ball point pen re-fill cartridge; then pull wire and
terminal from connector block. Record color code of each
wire before removing from connector.
9. Tape wires together and attach a piece of heavy cord or wire to them to help
pull new wires through steering column during installation.
10. Remove black plastic cover (tube like thing) from over wires.
This is the switch going back in

I taped a wire to the harness when I pullled out the old one, then it was in the colomn so I could tape the new one to it and pull the wires thru. Notice I had taken the column apart, it made it much easier to get the wires thru

These are the carrage head type bolts that hold the end on

Here you can see the nut on the bolt that holds the end on, now I was putting the screws in to hold the "cone" on to the end.

Hazard knob (notice it is a 68 TS switch)

push switch in lining up the lever area with the support hole in the column

Then you can put the screws in

then the lever and tighten

more in next post...

Default

This dot on the stock sterring wheel lines up with a line on the shaft

There is also a pin in the TS cancel cam that lines up with a groove in the wheel

Then you can plug it in!

Hope this helps some one a little
