Default GT500 Front Brakes

I'm considering GT500 Front Brakes (rotors, calibers with lines and pads). Any good deals around?

FYI, the GT500 brakes will NOT fit behind the OE 18x8.5 wheels. They require a 1" bolt-on spacer and trimming of the factory studs (clearance issue with the inside of the OE rim casting).

However, with the GT500 brakes and the 1" spacers front and rear (cosmetic reasons only for the rear) it is not only an inexpensive brake upgrade (that works!) it also looks great with the proper stance.

The GT500 Brembo calipers also use a common pad shared with the 350Z, Impreza STI, and the Ford GT (among others). This means a VERY wide range of pad selection for street and track. The factory rotors are also impressively heat resistant (they are HUGE lumps of iron afterall).

Great package. And upgrading to a Shelby 2-piece replacement rotor in the future is not a problem. Plus, all you need are the calipers, rotors, and pads... everything bolts right up.

I don't have any decent pics of the setup installed on my GT unfortunately.

I have the GT500 setup on my wife's GT with stock FGT 18x9's with no clearance issues.

Do you still the front brakes? I recently bought a new one. But I didn't really use it. Are you interested?

Just a quick comment I would recommend the Saleen/Stoptech 14" brake kit. You can find them for about $1k and they are very easy to install. I installed a set on a friends car and it took about an hour to do with basic tools. Its a very quality kit and improves braking and looks. You may have to upgrade your wheel size.
