Default What's your experiense with Aluminum Drive Shaft

I am looking into Aftermarket Drive shafts, but I am wondering what difference
you guys have noticed like Drivability, noise and most important how many tenths in the 1/4 ? Also what brand and how much and would you buy it again?

Thanks

An aluminum driveshaft will knock maybe one 10th of a second off of your 60 ft times and it goes great with an aluminum flywheel. The combo really lightens things up.

Agreed! I have one of the spydershafts too. They're only 16 lbs. No vibration at all. I only know of one person who had an issue with the drive shaft vibrating, but I believe he had a pinion angle that was way off.

I wouldn't go with the spyder shaft. They are a PITA to install. Go with a direct bolt in from Dynatech or Powerhouse.

I have heard good things from Dynatech and Powerhouse. Some spydershafts come with the flange already installed so essentially it is a bolt on. I havent had experience with them though. Looking for a one myself.

I've had my Powerhouse 1-piece aluminum DS for about 20,000 miles now. Absolutely no problems whatsoever from the moment I installed it up to the present. It was expensive but was worth it IMHO. I watched another member here drop 2/10ths in the 1/4 after installing one on his auto at the track, so I know they work.

I was stuck at 13.3 in the 1/4 for two months, but dropped 3/10s to 13.05 after installing the Spydershaft. On top of that, the drivetrain is much smoother. I have yet to hear a negative thing about his driveshafts.

I tried 2 different 1 piece aluminum drive shafts on my automatic 06 GT andd had terrible vibration. Where you get the vibration really bad is take it up to around 120mph and let off the gas all at once.

Then I got the Spyder shaft and no more vibration! Plus the cost is VERY nice!
