Default Long tubes vs. shortys

I want to get headers for my car, but I'm not sure what to get. I currently have a pypes o/r x-pipe (not the shorty x). Whats the pros and cons of each (long tubes vs. shortys), and will long tubes fit on the x-pipe that I have now or do I have to get a shorty x? Let me know if any of you have run into this issue before. Thanks

did you mean to put this in the 2010+ section?

for your 07 longtubes are proven to give you more performance. They also sound better too IMO. If you are going to do a header install do it once and do it right. It is a PITA to install if you are doing it yourself. You wont want to do it again. Kooks, ARH, and JBA have some good quality headers. You will have to get a different mid pipe to fit the longtubes. I dont think you will need a different one if you get shorties.

wow...i'm a retard...no wonder nobody replied haha..i meant to put it in the 05-09 section.
But thanks for the advice! I was not sure if I needed to replace the mid pipe or not but I definitely have heard that long tubes are better for performance so I think im going to bite the bullet and go with some longtubes and just replace my x-pipe with a shorty mid pipe. Thanks David!

right now I have Pypes o/r x-pipe with pypes 409's...it sounds pretty good, but the best combo i ever heard was bassani x with borlas on a 98 cobra....it sounded sooooooo nasty.

I like American Racing LT with Borla Stingers, AR, they seem to be a little easier to install... and agree with David on performance and sound IMO
