HID/ Projector headlights
Who has what and how are they working out? Vendors? Prices? I've decided I want them because the factory lights are pretty dim and well - they just look cool.

I've got the Vision Bulbs kit, and they work just fine. Install was simple, not quite plug and play like they claim, as it ships with a standard three-prong socket for the sense lead, but a quick splice job, mount two ballasts, plug in the bulbs and you're done.

I purchased my kit off an Ebay vendor for $93. I've had it on for a month or so and have had no problems.

I cannot comment as to the legality of the kits, but Ford does offer HID's using a similar headlamp housing in 2008 models. You cannot just plug in HID bulbs because they require ballasts to generate enough electricity to ignite the gas encapsulated in the HID bulbs. The kits have all the wiring and ballasts needed - you just need to splice into the headlight harness (some kits require no splicing) and locate the ballasts.

Exactly you will need a ballast to convert the stock 55w output to a 35w output. A friend of mine has the saleen hid headlights and they are the same as any of the cheaper kits. The only difference is that it is built in on the headlight. But for 800$ I dont know if they are really worth it. Also remember with any hid kit you gotta adjust ur beam so ur dont blind oncomming traffic.

The housings are totally different. I would never put a aftermarket HID setup in any car. I think they look rice and cheese bigtime. Factory lenses have no provision for focusing the beam so it doesnt just glare all over the road. Everyone adjusts their lights down to compensate. The Ford HIDs are made to focus the beam correctly so it doesnt just glare.

Re: HID/ Projector headlights
I got my saleen HIDs for cheap about 2 months ago. I would go with either the factory ford HIDs or the saleen ones. Some come up on eBay for pretty cheap every once in awhile.
