If you want a quality, TRUE long tube header system, I put my vote in for American Racing Headers. I don't have before/after dyno's but I can tell you that there was a noticable difference in the power and an incredible sound.

Please explain to me how JBA, borla, SLP and others are not a "true" longtube system?

If you want to spend a lot of money, go with AR, they're good headers. But if you dont have a lovely money tree in the back yard, the JBA's are great buy as well.

If you take a look at AR's complete system it isn't really that much more than your JBA comparison by the time you add their midpipe (which is already cheap) for the off-road version. It doesn't come down to a money tree issue cause last time I checked there's not a single one near my yard, I just think it comes down to quality & performance. There's many great systems out there but if I had to group them IMO for a complete system it would be AR, Stainless Works, Kooks & JBA.

What about the MAC LT system witht he pro chamber. I can get this setup for 850. Would the kooks ($500 more), the AR($400 more) or the JBA ($300 more) worth it performance wise?

I just dont want to spend 300-500 more for a system simply for a name or looks. I just want the best bang for my bucks. As long as the system holds up for 5 years, thats all i really care, but mostly i want to lower my 1/4 mile time. I dont need cats, they never smog test any one here.

Thanks

i bought kooks midlength, and the fit was awsome. They preforme great and look great. Not to mention I won't have to remove one to drop the tranny if I run into issues.

Granted I'm going to make a h pipe cause I'm not liking the raspyness of the x pipe anymore.

I havent seem many people talk about them, but I have Hooker Ceramic coated LT's, and Hooker X pipe. Most folks with my set up were turning 350- 355 hp, and with the exhaust I turned 378. I dont have a before and after, it could be that I just had a good motor, but that is 23 more than most with my setup. Besides, they come with the cool sticker that says, 'I Love my Hookers"
